My stationery work process for the holidays
While it's rainy grey and cold outside, things are getting more cosy. Christmas trees are popping up, twinkling lights are slowly filling the streets and we're getting prepped for the holidays. Are you eating stuffed turkey this year?
I want to give you a behind-the-scenes of the process of my Christmas cards.
Maybe it's interesting to know how this works.
First I searched for inspiring images, like gowns, Christmas photography, advertisements, settings,... I bundled this inspiration and decided how to put them together or what kind of concepts to make.
I sketched out my illustrations on multiple A2 mixed media papers.
The next day I colored them with watercolors, gouache, acrylic paint, pens, and ink.
When they were ready I took RAW images with an iPhone and adjusted them in Lightroom.
After that, I changed some backgrounds and put the text in Photoshop to finalize them.
The printable files I made in Indesign, saved a printable pdf, and sent to the printer... Done!
